Computer Science Teacher

We wish to appoint a Computer Science Teacher, predominantly for the Secondary phase, within our small and happy independent school, with pupils from Reception to Year 11. The school has a dedicated ICT suite and an ongoing commitment to developing the subject and resources throughout the school.

Classes are of mixed ability and capped at 12.

Essential skills include:-

Delivering GCSE Computer Science

Facilitating the online element of examinations when required

-      Managing the user accounts on the school’s Windows server

-      Managing the school’s Google Apps for Education suite

-      Updating and managing the school’s website

-      Providing IT support to pupils and staff

-      Setting up, configuring and installing new IT equipment

-      Taking a key role in developing the school’s IT strategy

-      Desirable attributes

-      A willingness to engage in, and enjoy, the wider life of the school

-      Flexibility as part our friendly teaching team

This is a 0.6 F.T. equivalent post, currently delivered on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, but there is flexibility to negotiate the timetable. The unique characteristics of this cross-phase school provide opportunities for a wide range of teaching experiences in a purposeful, nurturing, family atmosphere.
